Dylan Kelley, a Branford, Florida native, brings his towering presence back to Leesburg for this third season with the Lightning. Kelley had a solid 2019 season, posting a 5-1 record and a 4.14 ERA while holding opposing batters to just a .191 average. He followed that up with an even better 2020, posting a 1.53 ERA, while batters only mustered a .161 batting average with him on the mound. He also greatly improved his control, cutting down on his wild pitches and hit by pitches in a big way.
Kelley just finished his first season with the University of North Florida, where he appeared in eight games and started three of those. He managed to fan ten hitters in 16.1 innings on the mound.
Prior to attending UNF, Kelley spent two seasons at South Florida State College. He was a force on the mound, striking 74 batters over 71.1 innings.
