Dylan Kelley is a towering presence on the mound, who is re-joining the Lightning for his second season with the team.
Last summer, Kelley was quite successful in Leesburg. Over 12 appearances (5 starts), he struck out 46 batters in just 37 innings while holding opponents to a .191 average on his way to a 5-1 record and a 4.14 ERA.
In his second season with South Florida State this year, Dylan built upon his freshman campaign by making the most of his 6 starts in a season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. In half of his appearances, he went at least six innings while allowing 0 runs, 2 or fewer hits and averaging 9 strikeouts.
His best outing of 2020 so far, came in a 4-1 victory against IMG Post-Grad. In the game, Kelley pitched an absolute gem in his 6 scoreless innings of work, holding his opponents to no hits and collecting 9 strikeouts to just one walk.
