Kelly will look to serve as a short-outing bullpen arm for the Lightning in the 2021 season.

Kelly pitched for Pasco-Hernando State last season, making all eight of his appearances out of the bullpen. Through 11 innings, Kelly amased 14 strikeouts while allowing 11 hits. Outside of three run outing versus Santa Fe, Kelly only allowed two earned runs over ten innings.

While playing at Real Life Academy, Kelly garnered attention for some of his tools, both on the mound and at the plate. A scout with Prep Baseball Report described his sliders command as “above average” and thought he showed both strength and a level swing at the dish.
