Tanner May Sets Lightning Hit Streak Record in Win Over Seminole County

Leesburg, FL - In the second game of Leesburg's doubleheader against the Seminole County Scorpions on Thursday night, shortstop Tanner May set a new Lightning record, extending his hit streak to 16 games. In the bottom of the sixth inning, May hit a lead-off double to deep center field off the glove of Scorpions outfielder Will Acuff and later scored on what turned out to be his only hit of the game. The previous team record was held by Danny Baatz (2010) and Kyle Teaf (2012), both of whom had streaks of 15 consecutive games with a hit in their respective seasons.
